Room 2 Scientists

This term the whole school is studying Science in preparation for the Dannevirke Junior Science Fair to be held on the 16th October 2015. 
Today we talked about, "What A Scientist Does?" and put everyone's ideas on a chart. Then we looked at  a Brainpop junior clip about doing a Science Investigation.  It talked about making good questions, making a hypothesis, doing the experiment, the data /results and the conclusion.
After that we did an experiment with milk, food colouring and detergent.  If you would like to have a go at home go to:

Here are some photos showing what happened.








First of all we put some milk into a dish. Then we put some drops of food colouring in. Next we put some dish washing detergent on a cotton bud and held it onto the middle of the milk.

   This is what we saw.

We did the experiment again and this time we put the detergent down the side of the bowl.  This is what happened:
