Winter Warmers

Today Nicky and Heather came from the Tararua Library to bring our Winter Warmers books. We are so lucky to be part of this great programme.  Today we brought home a calendar about the programme, a colouring in competition and a sheet about the visitors coming to the Library in the holidays for our entertainment.

The Ipads Today

Today we watched a you tube song about feelings and then another clip that talked about feelings. We used Educreations to take a photo of our buddy showing one of the emotions that we had talked about. This is what some of our work looked like.

Netball Today

Today I went to watch the four by four netball girls. They all looked like they were having lots of fun. I saw Jenny get three goals and I think Eden also got one. It was nice to see Jade as well. Well done girls!

Matariki Discovery Day

Today we had a Matariki Discovery Day.  We invited our whanau to come along as well. Firstly Mrs. Bone put on the CD for the Matariki book.  Then we could go and choose which activities we wanted to do. In Room 1 we could use the pois and the rakau, make a headband and make a skirt/piupiu.  In Room 2 we prepared the food - cheese on toast, kumara chips and fruit kebabs for our Matariki feast.  We performed some waiata (action songs) and then we said a karakia  (prayer) before eating our food. Thanks to those who helped with the preparation of the food - we couldn't have done it without you.

Perseverence

Kade brought this Space jigsaw to school.  It took a long time to complete and lots of determination and perseverence from these boys.  Well Done boys.

Huia Range's Production

Today we went to Huia Range to see their production.  The first part was called Okatia Te Totara and was put on by the Junior School.  The second part was Celebrating Matariki and was put on by the Middle Syndicate.  As the bus was not coming back until 11 o'clock, we had time to fill in after the show so we asked if we were allowed to play on their playground so that is what we did.

Nany H Comes And Reads To Us

Today Lucas's Nany came to read to us,  She read us 2 books.  One of the books was called 'Just Me and My Dad" by Mercer Mayer.  We thought it was a funny book and we laughed a lot. She also let James, who was our special person, wear her hard hat that she has to wear for her gardening.

Yesterday Lucas’s Nan came to read to us and she had a hard hat and she let James wear it.  Lucas sat beside Nany H. One story was funny.  Now Grandma Jenny and Nanny H come to read to us.  I felt happy.  Her hard hat was orange and blue.  She wears it when she is in the garden.  In the story the sheep were peeking in the man’s door.  The bike was upside down and it was all muddy. by Jenny

Scooter School Today

Room 4 has been reading a book called Scooter Fun this week and wanted to bring their scooters to school so for Team One and Two Sport we were allowed to bring our scooters.  There were so many people with scooters that we had two teachers with the scooters and Mrs. E took Ripper Rugby and Mrs. Bone took football.

Story Writing Today

Today we had one of our reading groups read the story, "Our Moon." Then we could choose whether we wrote our story about the moon on an ipad or the computer and also whether we wrote on our own or with a buddy.  Here are two of the ipad stories:
