Maths Today
We have been learning to compare objects. We read The Gingerbread Man last week and put the gingerbread men in order from the tallest to the shortest. Then we found things that were shorter than a gingerbread man, about the same size and taller than a gingerbread man. Today we made a bridge for the gingerbread man to go over. It had to be big enough for him to get across the river. Here are our bridges:

We were so lucky to be given a free book that was ours to keep. Most of us got a pizza voucher as well that we can use in Feilding or Palmerston to get a free pizza.

Sophie Siers Comes To The Tararua Library
Nikki, our friendly librarian, invited us to go to the Tararua Library to hear Sopie Siers read her book on Friday. It was a wet day but we managed to get there without getting too wet. Sophie talked to us about where she lives and about Allis. Allis is an old tractor on the farm where she lives at Waimarama. Mrs. Gyde's daughter, Alice, works at the Library and she had made a 3D Allis that was on the wall. After Sophie read her book, we were given some paper and some books with tractors and we could draw our own tractors. Then we were going to colour in some pictures of Allis and Nibbles, the horse but we decided to bring them back to school.

Jane Comes Back To Room 2
Jane, our Dental Therapist's helper, came in to check our lunch boxes today. She told us if we have sugary foods such as biscuits and dried fruit, that we should keep them for lunchtime. Jane helped everyone choose a good playtime food while she was in Room 2.

We are learning how to give and follow instructions in Maths. We are learning about words such as under, beside, between, in front of, left and right.
We also had a go at some barrier games where we sit back to back with a partner and tell our partner where to put the cards without letting them look at our cards!

Dental Health
We are studying Dental Health at the moment. Today our two tooth fairies came and talked to us. They told us that an adult should help us clean our teeth until we are eight. We learnt a song and all got a chance to clean the big sets of teeth. We should use toothpaste about the size of a pea and should not rinse our mouth out with water when we finish. The tooth fairies will surprise us and come back to check our lunchboxes back in a few days!

Winter Warmers
Today Nicky and Heather came from the Tararua Library to bring our Winter Warmers books. We are so lucky to be part of this great programme. Today we brought home a calendar about the programme, a colouring in competition and a sheet about the visitors coming to the Library in the holidays for our entertainment.
The Ipads Today
Today we watched a you tube song about feelings and then another clip that talked about feelings. We used Educreations to take a photo of our buddy showing one of the emotions that we had talked about. This is what some of our work looked like.
