One of the Maths groups is learning to count on from the biggest number.  After working with Mrs, Bone the group had an activity where they turned over a number creature and then took turns rolling the dice to see how many to count on. Each person wrote down the corresponding number sentence.  Here is Payton's whiteboard with her answers.

Place Value in Maths

One of the Maths Groups was sorted so that everyone had a partner.  Each pair was given a pile of sticks and they had to put them into bundles of 10 to find out how many they had.  Since we had the IPads today they could take a photo to show how many they had.

We have also been using the slavonic abaci and will be using beans and buses also.

Today we had two human visitors and two dogs from the S.P.C.A. Laura came to talk to us about how to behave around dogs in preparation for tomorrow's Pet Day.

In her first slide Laura told us that you don't really know if a dog is going to bite or not just by looking at it.
Then we talked about what to do if you see a dog running around at the park,
meeting new dogs and being safe with the dogs that we know.
She also talked about being safe with our scooters.
