Making Reindeer

Today we made some gingerbread men which we turned around and made into reindeer.
First we had to roll out the mixture, put it in the fridge and then cut out a gingerbread man.

We cooked the gingerbread men and then decorated them as reindeer.

 

We used tubes of icing, and  m & ms for the eyes and nose.

Team 1 Trip To Stoney Creek Ranch

Today we went to Stoney Creek.  We had to be at school by quarter to eight and left at 8.00 a.m.
When we got to Stoney Creek we had morning tea.  Then we went for a walk around the ranch. We got to walk the plank, go over some jumps and run down a hill.  We also looked at the pigs and a climbing room.

First of all we did the Commando Course with the swings, seesaw, tyres and climbing things.  Then we went to the room off the dining room for the little red bikes.  After that we went back to the Dining Room for games. Next we had lunch.  After lunch we went to the buggy rides.  Half of us played while everyone else went on the buggy and then we swapped over. Our last activity was the Quad bike ride.  Again half of us went while the other half waited and then we swapped over.

The Christmas Parade

On Saturday nearly everyone in Room 2 went to the Christmas Parade.  Some of our class were even in the Parade.

Blake, Oliver and Alex were in the Fonterra Train and Ciara was in the ambulance.

Kingston had a stall on Market Day with his Nan outside the tattoo shop.  

There were lots of other floats and of course there was a special man at the end of the parade.  Guess who that was?!

Making Pumpkin Pie

Our Inquiry Unit this term is Festivals.  We have looked at Guy Fawkes, Halloween, Diwali and Thanksgiving so far and we will be looking at Christmas around the World.  Today we looked at a Youtube video clip called The Story of Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving is celebrated in America on November the 28th. 
We also looked on Google Images for Thanksgiving food pictures. 

At Thanksgiving you usually eat turkey and have pumpkin pie.  Room 3 cooked the meat and vegetables and we cooked a pumpkin pie that we both shared.  Going by the number of people who wanted more, the pie was very popular- Mrs. Hewitt was in our room this morning and helped us.  She thought she might even make 

Maths ThisWeek

This week we have been talking about place value. Today we were given a two digit number and we could make it using the beans, tens frames or the popsicle sticks.  Each bus held ten beans and the sticks were put into bundles of 10. See if you can guess what numbers we made!

Swimming Today

Today the parents were invited to come and see how well we had done at swimming. Jade's mum and Dad, Kyan's Dad and Kissane's Nana and Koko, all came to watch us.

Kingston's Ride Home

Mrs. Bone couldn't resist taking a photo of Kingston on his Nan's mobility scooter last week. They had a little dog in the basket too!
