In The Library Today

Today we went to the library as part of our Library Skills programme.  We read our Shared Book  The Jigarees and we found another book by the same author.  Joy Cowley is the author of these books.

We talked about what an author is and Mrs. Bone asked us if we had a favourite book.  Some children told us what their the favourite book was and we tried to find out the author.

 Blake's book was On The Farm-Milking Time and the authors were Jamie and Lee Lamb.  There was a photo of them and their family on the back page.

Connor's favourite book is Dinosaurs in the Supermarket.  The author is Timothy Knapma








The author of Dimitri's favourite book is Beatrix Potter.

This Week's Fitness

Today's Maths In Room 2 - 20th March

We are learning about teen numbers and how to order numbers to 20.  Marilyn and Blake are having a turn at the Caterpillar Slider activity on the IWB (Interactive White Board).  If you get the numbers in the right order the caterpillar turns into a butterfly.  You can try it on http://www.ictgames.com/caterpillar_slider.html if you would like to.

Then the pentagon group had to order groups of teen numbers.

This Week's Big Book

This week our shared book was The King's Cake.  Today we acted it out.  The characters were the king, the queen, the cook and the gardener.  Here are some of the photos.  Blake was the gardener seen here running to get the hose and then squirting the King's cake to put the candles out.  We also designed some new cakes for the King and wrote stories about these.

Connor and Toby's News Today

Connor brought a weta to school today.  He found it in his Mum's garden.  Toby brought some ants that he found at his Dad's work.
